Simon Stay with Aunty

“However what will you do with yourself until September?.

“You can not just do nothing for three months.” said his father joining in the conversation.

Simon anticipated that his father would come out with something like this.

He went on to explain that he cannot help the fact that the economy is slow.

Mother then spoke up for Simon and stated how happy she was for him.

Father knew not to blame Simon for these present chains of events.

Things went silent for a while as the family ate their dinner.

They were all eating leftover beef from the Sunday joint with peas and gravy.

Mother agreed Simon should not sit idle around the house for three months whilst waiting to return to work.

She had had an idea and had been talking to her sister about it.

“Simon, I talked to your Aunty May recently and she thinks it would be a good idea if you spent some time there over the summer”, Mother explained.
